Who We Are

We Stand Together is a movement of individuals, organizations, and leaders committed to taking a stand for those at risk of -or who are already- being subjected to hate locally and nationally. Our first Ally Action is in support of the Jewish community, in which we take a stand against anti-Semitism following the massacre at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Our Goal

We Stand Together provides opportunities for allies to show our commitment to targeted groups as part of a community-wide expression of support and solidarity. Through community-wide Ally Actions, individuals can clearly communicate that hate speech, violence, and hurtful policies are unacceptable. We also promote an understanding of the ways that anti-Semitism and other forms of oppression (racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia/heterosexism) intersect to keep in place policies that promote wealth for the few while subordinating policies that promote equitable living conditions for all.

Our Vision

We envision a community in which each of us is actively engaged in taking a united stand against hate. We believe that our ability to eliminate negative bias, hate speech, and hurtful policies from our communities is contingent on all people standing together and saying, “We will not allow this here!”

There has been a marked increase in acts of hatred and in the targeting of groups who have been historically subjected to prejudice and discrimination in our country. Many group members, including People of Color, Jews, LGBQTIA+ people, Muslims, refugees and immigrants, women and others, are being directly impacted by the recent emergence of white supremacist-influenced rhetoric and actions. We Stand Together is committed to supporting those being targeted by hate groups. We know that most people in this country object to this upturn in hateful actions, and we believe that we can rise together to eliminate hate in our communities and our country.
